Having never used USB with Linux (or much with windows-anything, either) I
was just able to get an iomega zip250 USB drive supported under Linux
and reading a disk someone gave me - all in under 15 minutes.

What more could I want? Okay, plug and play, but I would have had that if
I hadn't cut USB and SCSI out of my kernel originally ;-). Properly
configured, it booted up and detected it at once. A simple mount was all
that was left.

Thanks to everyone who put time into the USB and mass-storage stuff, I
appreciate it.

-Mike
