Hello,

I have been testing my very old HP8200e cd-rw usb-drive
with several recent linux 2.4 kernel versions without success.
I remember vaquely, that the last time this drive has been
working without problems under linux was with kernel
versions <2.4.10 or such.

The last crash happened with kernel version 2.4.18-pre4 with
the
ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/gregkh/usb/2.4/usb-storage-2.4.18-pre4.patch.
The error message below can be re-produced by using xcdroast & cdrecord
to read any disk into iso-image.

kernel: 2.4.18-pre4 with and without the above mentioned patch
compiler: gcc-2.96-85

I'd be very much willing to test any possible patches to try to fix this crash
...
Regards,
Tomi
