It works for me with uhci, mousedev, and keybev.  (Intel 82371AB
controller).

I don't see this.  But I'm actually connecting a keyboard to it.

I have a similar problem -- the keyboard seems to reset once in a while,
and I can keep it in the reset loop if I press various keys.  (This is
particularly annoying when typing a password, since you don't know how
much you typed).  I haven't looked into what actually goes on USB-wise
(no smoking gun in dmesg), but I did establish that this also happens
under the Win98 HID driver, so I am suspecting the device itself.

There is no need to reset X in my case, though -- the keyboard resets
and it works again.
