[message to DataFab support forwarded to linux-usb-devel and linux-scsi]

Dear Spencer,

You may be pleased to learn that your KECF-USB reader works nicely
with Linux, too. To get it working, I "just" had to make a small
workaround that overrides the standard Linux behaviour to request
255 bytes in response to a SCSI INQUIRY command.

The KECF-USB seems to stall completely if anything larger than 36 is
passed to it as the expected return length for INQUIRY.
You may know the standards better than I do, but I'd regard this
as very non-robust behaviour. After all, filling up the requested
space with zeroes can't be that hard.

Although it won't help for dealing with current devices, I'd like
to ask you to fix this behaviour in future releases of your hardware.

With kind regards
Martin Wilck
