The main difference between kernel:printer.c versions 2.4:0.11 and 2.5:0.12 is that Oliver Neukum's changes which went into 2.5 as 0.11 didn't go into 2.4. Then when it came time to add my ioctl changes into 2.4.19-preX and 2.5.7 (see http://hpoj.sf.net/download/experimental/linux-usb), the "next available" version number was 0.11 on 2.4 but 0.12 on 2.5.
