Still the same error:
        Linux version 2.4.19-pre8 (eduard@editower)
        (gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)) #2 Fre Mai 10 22:45:16 CEST 2002

May 10 22:53:13 editower kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/2, assigned
device number 3
May 10 22:53:13 editower kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1448
May 10 22:53:13 editower kernel: usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=3
(error=-110)
May 10 22:53:13 editower kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/2, assigned
device number 4
May 10 22:53:13 editower kernel: usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=4
(error=-110)

On a sidenote: It works when using the "usb.patch" from
Georg Acher <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. I still get a first unsuccessful
id assignment but it works the second time:
May 10 22:57:52 editower kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/2, assigned
device number 2
May 10 22:57:52 editower kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1486
May 10 22:57:52 editower kernel: usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=2
(error=-110)
May 10 22:57:53 editower kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/2, assigned
device number 3

Next note: either this sl11r is a total insane device or
-pre8 needs more time in order to "find" the usb device. This
time I need HUB_PROBE_TRIES=3 and HUB_LONG_RESET_TIME=400 in
order for a successful hotplug. "cold-plugging" the device when
the host is powered off leaves the device completely undetected.
In this case even no error message is presented. :(

Nevertheless, increasing the timeout helps to some extend and
makes it possible for me to use usb as it was meant to be. But
looking at the results I'm not 100% sure what to do.

thanks,
