The chip has 44 pins and was covered by a Quality Control sticker. Removing that showed the text "Carry U02SE 0101E" on the chip. I have other obligations right now, hope to continue playing with this device Friday night or so. Maybe the first step would be to disassemble the firmware assuming that it is 8051 code and see whether something comes out that makes sense.
