If you don't have the driver for the modem, *and* if the modem requires
a special driver, then you can't reverse-engineer it this way. The modem
will be passive; all you can get is the enumeration and descriptors.

You need to get a Windows box, install the USB sniffer and all the
standard modem software (including the driver), and then look at what
the real driver sends, and what the device sends back.

If it is ACM class, then it's easy. If not, you've got some data to
decode ;-)
