Hi everybody,

i just bought a new Device "Multislot CF/SM/SD/MMC/MS USB"
card reader from company Hama (www.hama.de).

The card reader itself has four connectors for several
memory devices. It shows up as four "removable hard disks"
under Win98SE.

It didn't work using kernel 2.4.16, so i upgraded to 2.4.18.
Whenever i "cd" to /proc/bus/usb and do a "ls -l", this
process hangs. When i then shut down (Ctrl-Alt-Del),
the whole system seems to hang in stopping the "hotplug
services". I use the german distribution "SuSE 7.3".

Can anybody reproduce this?

Would it help to send the output of kernel 2.4.16's USB
information?

Can i do any more tests or get some more log information
to see what's wrong?

Best regards,
Torsten.
