No. You must have a device.

1. Logically, if all it took was software, then there wouldn't be many people
selling those special cables, right?
2. USB is not a port. It is a bus. Strict master-slave arrangment. One
master per bus.
3. You need to read the USB spec or a book on USB to understand more.
