Nope. That machine ran 2.5.42 (or maybe 41) before that, and failed 
similarly. I updated it to BK as of an hour ago, and since it still failed 
I did the report. So it's been going on for at least a few weeks.

Enabling USB debug doesn't show much more. I get

and clearly the "wait for giveback" never happens. (There are some other 
messages too, but they seem to be for the storage devices that do work)

in case you care (this was from /proc/bus/usb/devices, which works fine 
_until_ the point where the printer timeout happens, at which point it 
stops working).
