Subject: [linux-usb-devel] PROBLEM: USB-Device not accepting new address, interrupts detected

Hi,

Greg suggested to post this problem at this mailing list. Following my
problem in REPORTING-BUGS format (as well as i can).

[2.] I have a problem with my usb PCI add in card. Everytime i connect a
USB-Device (Fritz!X USB from AVM with changed Device-Adress in
Sourcecode (changed from 0x2000 to 0x2800), because this device is
delivered by an provider - 1&1 - www.einsundeins.de) i get the error
"device not accepting new address". Looking at
your FAQ i found help, but this help depends that the interrupt doesnt
increase for each connection. But in my case the interrupt counts are
increased.

[3.] modules, usb, capi, avm,

[4.] Linux version 2.4.18-4GB ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 2.95.3
20010315 (SuSE)) #1 Wed Mar 27 13:56:33 UTC 2002

[5.] Sorry, Oops-Message not available, but here the output of
/var/log/messages:

Have the same problem with some other devices. I test one of this with 2.4.19 kernel and
there it works. Seems to be some changes here in 2.4.19.
Will test it also with a Acer bluetooth stick also because this device behaves equal on older kernels.
It seems to be a timing hardware problem at enumeration with endpoint 0 transfer. May depend on the the cable, the host controller or the device itself.
Have some developement parts here witch works while the produktion types only work with
2.4.19 kernel.

Bye Wolfgang
