Yes, in 2.5 both the OHCI and dma-memory code are better generalized.
Though I certainly understand that some projects can't use 2.5 yet.
Did you look around for a ppc405 OHCI update? I seem to recall one
or two floating around; it'd be good to see the 2.5 tree get one,
the SA-1111 is far from the only non-PCI version of OHCI.

The bk tree linuxppc_2_4_devel, which contains uptodate 405 support,
provides consitent memory routines that should work if you pass NULL as
the pci_dev* argument.
