Hi,
I am running Suse 8.1, Kernel 2.4.19. I have an Adaptec USB2 card and Ikebana external hard drives. Booting gives me "starting hotplugging services [net pci usb...]. My external drive then beeps. It works great !
Good to hear that. Though I'd plan on updating your kernel,
If I umount the external drive and swap for another, it crashes Linux within a few seconds after turning the drive on. The keyboard locks up. If I reboot, /proc/ksyms is empty. Does anyone have any suggestions ?
See whether kernel 2.4.21-pre3 does the same. If it does, collect and post more facts ... like whether it happens when you reconnect the same drive, or whether you must actually swap drives. - Dave ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Scholarships for Techies!
