Hi,
I must refuse to take that patch for several reasons.
- - it causes havoc if more than one device are connected
- - it works only for modules
- - it requires you to unload the module to deal with new devices
On the whole a device driver is the wrong place to solve this problem.
It applies to all drivers and should be solved on a higher level.
