Dear all, I am another one having problems with 2.4.21, EHCI and an USB-Mass Storage Device:
The problem I am facing is that using the USB2.0 port on a NEC (AUA3100LP) controller causes medias not to be recognized reliable, just 1 out of 4 times (or worser) it works as expected. This device (simple 4-slot reader with a SMSc "USB97C210-NE") works very reliable on a random USB 1.x-host. What Ive read on this list so far is that I should try the "mini-patch" which should be in -ac1 - so I tried with stock 2.4.21 and 2.4.21 with -ac2. In fact recognizing medias works better in the stock-kernel. -ac2 did not recognize a media at all. USB-Debugging and Mass-Storage-Debugging are switched on in both runs. Medias: IBM Microdrive 1GB, 2x 1GB CF cards (C-one) and a 512M (optosys). 2.4.21 + USB Debugging + USB MS Debugging: http://www.scm-pc-card.de/service/linux/dmesg-2.4.21.txt http://www.scm-pc-card.de/service/linux/messages-2.4.21.txt http://www.scm-pc-card.de/service/linux/lsusbv-2.4.21.txt http://www.scm-pc-card.de/service/linux/lspciv-2.4.21.txt 2.4.21-ac2 + USB Debugging + USB MS Debugging: http://www.scm-pc-card.de/service/linux/dmesg-2.4.21-ac2.txt http://www.scm-pc-card.de/service/linux/messages-2.4.21-ac2.txt http://www.scm-pc-card.de/service/linux/lsusbv-2.4.21-ac2.txt http://www.scm-pc-card.de/service/linux/lspciv-2.4.21-ac2.txt If I can provided any more usefully information please let me know.
