On an Abit VP6 mainboard, Debian kernel-source 2.4.21-2, patched with
kernel-patch-xfs 1.3.0pre2-3 (hand patched using snapshot patch),
kernel-patch-evms 2.1.0-2, and the debianlogo patch.  The kernel in the
second log is (IIRC) also patched with the latest copy of the ACPI patch
(which oopses right away just like stock acpi did, without "acpi=off",
so that did not affect the USB problem at all).

The kernel build from the first log had "usbdevs" enabled, the second
did not.

I have a Microsoft USB Pro keyboard and USB optical mouse that work
perfectly in 2.4.20 and earlier.  With this latest kernel, however, I
get the errors you'll see in these logs, and the USB system does not
work at all.  I copied my 2.4.20 configuration and changed nothing under
USB except to click off modules that are new, and to turn off the
usbdevfs the second time around.

Will enabling the USB debug option provide you with information you
require?  I can sit through one more build if need be...
