Hi all, A couple of years ago I bought a Dallas Semiconductor 1490 2-in-1 fob with a crypto iButton, but support on Linux so far only seems possible through libusb, with non-free software. I thought I'd give it a shot to create a real driver.
I've started playing with the skeleton USB driver and have turned it into driver which recognizes insertion/removal of the fob, and have the basic ioctl code up and running (so far with an apparently unused minor number on my laptop w. SuSE 8.2). I've looked over the information on http://www.linux-usb.org/, but can't find how to request assignment of a minor number. Any help and/or advice would be appreciated.
