It will be an RPM with a name like kernel-source-2.4.x-yz.rpm. But the CDs only have v2.4 kernels, as you may have noticed. > Ok, how do I go about getting 2.6 kernel? See: http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/2.5/SRPMS.kernel/ You will need to update several other packages that are in that directory as well. If you decide to use a 2.6 kernel from kernel.org, at least consider using the .config files from one of Arjan's kernels. You can't just drop in a 2.4 config file and upgrade it-- there are several new configuration options that will make your computer appear non-responsive if you don't enable them. See also http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/davej/misc/post-halloween-2.5.txt (although it says 2.5.75, it applies to the 2.6.0-testX kernels as well). > How can I update the kernel and sources? It should (at least, that's what previous 2.4 kernel source RPMs did), but it wouldn't hurt to play it safe and back up your changes. -- Charles Lepple <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://www.ghz.cc/charles/ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
