Ok, to make a long story short, I'm trying to use my usb-key under the new
kernel, but when I insert it no partition appears (a /dev/sda but not
/dev/sda1).

This is the longer version:
My hardware is via epia M10000, with kernel 2.6.0-test3 and test4 (gentoo
distro).
I have also a CF reader and it was correctly detected and mounted
(/dev/sda1).
[strange thing] on test3 I have to load uhci-hcd, ehci-hcd and usb-storage
exactly in this order otherwise the system hangs or won't run. On test4 this
combination (on modules.autoload) doesn't work anymore but loading them
after login work.[/strange thing]

Anyway I was told that my usb-key (differently from my CF) have no partition
so scsi can't make up a /sdax entry. I also tried to mount /dev/sda but it
says "not a valid block device". Anyway on a Mandrake 9.1 it works flawless.
I'm a bit tired of blind suggestions, so I'll be grateful if someone gives
me any hint on how usb-storage is supposed to work and I'm glad to do some
debug on c code if necessary.

TIA

Uberto Barbini
