And since Linux-USB doesn't seem to enable the remote wakeup feature
in any device, we have no reason to pay attention to such requests.
They're all errors, unless/until the host enables remote wakeup for
some device accessed through that root hub port.

One area where remote wakeup would be used would be Wake On LAN. The
AX8817x device does support WOL features though the current driver
doesn't provide the ethtool calls to enable it. It certainly is a bit
of a fringe item, but it would be nice to be able to support it in the
future.
