Sure, with just the interface refcounting fixed. Device refcounting issues can be fixed separately.
Mind if I also change the interface bus_id strings so they include the configuration number too? That'll help hotplugging scripts work better, by helping prevent the "new" interfaces from living in sysfs exactly where the old ones were (and often with identical names).
