Hello, We are developing a board based on a PPC405 processor, and we are using a Philips ISP1160 USB host controller.
Searching the net and reading through this mailing list, I saw various indications of a Linux driver for this chip, but I am not clear on what is actually the most up-to-date version to use (or to start from). What I found so far is: - Mention of a Philips developed driver, available with their evaluation kit. I was not able to find the driver source on Philips' website; is the driver freely distributable and obtainable without the evaluation kit? - A driver for an ISA-based board from Simtec with an ISP1161 (http://www.simtec.co.uk/products/EB1161ISA/resources.html), but the download did not work when I tried it. - Version 0.8 of a driver, on Linux-USB's SourceForge download section, dated September 2001. - Various discussions from 2001 related to more recent versions of this driver (0.9.x), but I was not able to find them. - BoundaryDevices' updated patch to version 0.8 with improvements. The best approach seems to start with version 0.8 and BoudaryDevices' patch and see if there are any required changes for our hardware (due to ARM-isms and such). What are the opinions of the other ISP116x users on the list? Thank you very much for any information and advice! -Christian -- Christian Grigis | SMARTDATA SA Software Engineer | PSE-B / EPFL Phone: +41-21-693-84-98 | CH - 1015 Lausanne mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | http://www.smartdata.ch ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email sponsored by: Enterprise Linux Forum Conference & Expo The Event For Linux Datacenter Solutions & Strategies in The Enterprise Linux in the Boardroom; in the Front Office; & in the Server Room http://www.enterpriselinuxforum.com _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-devel
