Im currently porting an application from windows to linux. The software read a stream of data coming from a custom device. The USB chip used is a FTDI USB-Serial.
Im using libusb 0.1.7 with a RedHat 9.0 distribution. My problem is how to configure usb_bulk_read, to guarantee a good performance (timeout, packet size). For example, the Windows software is acquiring (custom) packets at 900 Hz. The linux implementation under RH8 or RH9 with a timeout of 100 and a buffer size of 4098 is 500 Hz. These parameters do not work under some other linux distribution. How to guarantee that the usb_bulk_read parameters are working at maximum speed? ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: SF.net Giveback Program.
