hi !

i received the task to set a one-board embeded pc (pc 104) working
with usb. The pc has an usb interface, but the vendor does not
support it by now and promises for the next driver update. (It runs a
minimal linux) Because we can not wait, i was asked to do some
research on that. So here is my question:

As far, as i read there is a standard implementation of the usb core
and the host adapter.
so what could be a reason it doesn't work on this pc?
what has to be done to get usb to work?
Is there anything i could do?
first idea was i should write own usb host adapter?
can this be a succesfull project (student research project)?

where do i get the source code for the "standard" host adapters.
I read about the three standards OHCI; UHCI; EHCI.
I'd like to see how much lines of code it has. And if i could work on
it to get this chip to work.
Is there something like a standard implementation i could use to work
on?

I'm a bit scary if i can handle this...

Or maybe another idea?

thanks for help,

best regards,
c. torens mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
