It was suggested on the linux-usb-users list that I pass this on to you. I've added
some additional info.

My new HP49g+ calculator has a usb interface that works fine with hotplug under Linux
2.4.22 (using uhci or usb-uhci) and the generic usbserial device after I "modprobe
usbserial vendor=0x03F0 product=0x0121"

Unfortunately, the usb connection fails with Linux V2.6.0-test10 giving the following
errors when I turn on the device, or when I boot with the device on:
hub 1-0:1.0: new USB device on port 2, assigned address 3
usb 1-2: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
drivers/usb/core/message.c: USB device number 3 default language ID 0x409

usb 1-2: control timeout on ep0in

And it takes my usb mouse with it.
This is an Abit KT-7 motherboard with the Via Apollo KT133 chipset (VT8363, VT82C686A).
In kernel 2.4.22 I get this in syslog when the device is turned on:
hub.c: new USB device 00:07.2-2, assigned address 6
usb.c: kmalloc IF c75f8500, numif 1
usb.c: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb.c: USB device number 6 default language ID 0x409
Manufacturer: HP Company
Product: HPx9G+ Device
usbserial.c: Generic converter detected
usbserial.c: Generic converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)
usb.c: serial driver claimed interface c75f8500
usb.c: kusbd: /sbin/hotplug add 6

As I'm not on the list, please cc.

Bruce
