Absolutely. That's what people want when they do a synchronous unlink.

But "wait till idle" -- urb_begone(), urb_stop(), or whatever -- is not the same as "unlink".

Which is why I'll be happiest to see those semantics appear in some
routine that doesn't suggest it's only got "unlink" semantics.
