Hello,

When I run the 2.6 kernel, I cannot use my USB flash fob, a 256 MB SanDisk
Cruzer Mini, after I resume from a suspend in my laptop, a Thinkpad X20.

Everything works fine when I use it immediately after boot, but after suspend,
I cannot mount the device:
mount: /dev/sda1 is not a valid block device

Watching /var/log/messages, I see one line:
Dec 23 19:42:01 fosberry kernel: hub 1-0:1.0: new USB device on port 1, assigned
 address 6

/var/log/syslog dumps out:
Dec 23 19:42:06 fosberry kernel: usb 1-1: control timeout on ep0out

/var/log/debug shows:
Dec 23 19:42:00 fosberry kernel: hub 1-0:1.0: port 1, status 101, change 1, 12
Mb/s
Dec 23 19:42:01 fosberry kernel: hub 1-0:1.0: debounce: port 1: delay 100ms
stable 4 status 0x101

When I am able to use the device (immediately after a reboot), all the logs are
far more verbose.
I've seen this problem in 2.6.0-test11, 2.6.0, and 2.6.0 after I applied the
patch usb-rollup-2.6.0-test11.patch which was reported on December 12 at:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-usb-devel&m=107127152402078&w=2

I also tried an unpatched 2.6.0 kernel on my older laptop, a Thinkpad 240, and
I saw the same symptoms. When I run kernel 2.4.23, all works well after multiple
suspend/resume cycles on either machine.

Any ideas what I'm missing here ? Can I provide more interesting debug
information if this is a bug ? I would be happy to help test code that might
fix this issue. Since I am not subscribed to the list, please also reply to
me personally. Thanks much.
