Hi, I've been playing around with the new sysfs utilities, and noticed that, for the same USB device, the MaxPower value was different, when comparing the output of systool verses lsusb.
It seems to be a kernel problem. Here is what sysfs reports for the device : -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] > pwd /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1 [EMAIL PROTECTED] > cat idVendor 045e [EMAIL PROTECTED] > cat idProduct 000b [EMAIL PROTECTED] > cat bMaxPower 50mA [EMAIL PROTECTED] > -- And here is the same device shown through /proc/bus/usb/devices -- T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=1.5 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1 P: Vendor=045e ProdID=000b Rev= 0.82 C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=a0 MxPwr=100mA I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=03(HID ) Sub=01 Prot=01 Driver=hid E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 8 Ivl=10ms -- Everything is working ok, as I only have one USB device (the keyboard I'm using now). However, the mis-match in figures would cause problems if you were using one of them (the wrong one) to work out whether you need a powered or un-powered USB hub, if were going to add one.
