>From what you've said, the gphoto2 application locks up under 2.6 but not under 2.4, right? And gphoto2 itself is the same executable under both operating systems? That does make it sound like a fault in the USB driver, or maybe in usbfs. Can you provide any more information about what happens when the lock-up occurs, like a stack trace for gphoto2 process?
