Folks,

I haven't used my camera since I was on 2.6.0-t9 (which worked), and I'm now trying on 2.6.1 and its not getting recognized when I plug it in (i.e. usually it attaches to the /dev/sda1 device, but it's no longer attaching to anything).

Generally the required modules are usb-storage, scsi_mod, sd_mod, uhci_hdc, usb-core, and vfat, which are all loaded.

The only problem I see is:

Feb 1 01:53:17 rider kernel: uhci: USBCMD_HCRESET timed out!

Which, at a brief look at the source, happens on loading the driver for the HC, it does an initial reset so it can find attached devices... but the reset times out...

In /proc/bus/usb/devices I have two blocks... both for controllers. My camera doesn't show up, not surprisingly.

The camera is an Exilim EX-S3 USB camera. I don't have the 2.6.0-t9 kernel anymore... I did go back to my last kernel which was 2.6.0-t11 which had the same problem.

There was a pervious thread about my camera in which I tried some patches from Alan Stern which modified entries in unusual_devs.h for my camera. You can find that thread here:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=3311647&forum_id=5398

I do not have usb-storage verbose debugging in my kernel, but I'm glad to add it in and start digging more -- I need to learn more about this stuff anyway. Thought I'd post now incase someone already knows what it is before I go reinventing the wheel. I'll poke tomorrow, time for bed now.

Thanks,
