usbaudio and ALSA's snd-usb-audio belong to totally different sound architectures. You cannot use both at the same time with the same device. Compiled as modules, you can only load one. Normally you would blacklist one in the hotplug configuration. Compiling both into the kernel calls for trouble, though. Using two drivers for one hardware in general is not possible, AFAIK. Maybe this could be made clearer in the docs, but I suppose long-time ALSA users were so happy to be able to finally get rid of the old OSS architecture, they probably didn't consider to mention it explicitly. ;) BTW: The entry on qbik seems to misname the driver module. It's not called "usb-audio" but "snd-usb-audio", starting with "snd-" as all ALSA drivers. I was able to shortly test the Audigy 2 NX with ALSA: Mixer and recording were working fine, but I got nasty distortion at playback here. You should use the latest and greatest ALSA, there have been some changes regarding the Audigy USB there. ciao -- Frank Barknecht _ ______footils.org__ ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now.
