Does it fix only isochronous transfers or bulk transfers too? I have a lot of problems with urbs being timed out on a KT333A board, perhaps what you're saying is the exact cause. Say, if I copy a 200Mb file to a CF card in a USB flash card reader, success rate is about 1:2.

Well the original reason to add the I/O watchdog timer was to make a KT333 board work for bulk and control traffic ... :)

No, it doesn't change how bulk works at all. Some flash readers
don't work well with older Linux versions, and some may not work
that well even with the latest.

You should post failure info for that, on thread with some
more appropriate title. Include /proc/bus/usb info for your
reader, and kernel "dmesg" output of the failure happening;
enable CONFIG_USB_DEBUG (to get more usbcore and HCD messages),
and the verbose messages from usb-storage.
