I'm about out of ideas. Are you sure it's hanging in the same way as before, and not in some different way? The USB and usb-storage debugging logs will give some idea, even though they will take up a significant amount of disk space. (Actually, it's generally just the end part of the log that's important, the part starting from just before the error occurred.) Also, when you installed that Genesys device in your Windows OS, did you need to load any vendor-supplied drivers or was it a case of simply plug it in and start using it?
