Apparently, the newer hotplug code as of January 2004 is more cautious with running usbmodules - at lest, with the new hotplug code but unchanged usbmodules package, I'm not having the problems I have with SuSE's b0rked-up 2002 hotplug stuff (IIRC, SuSE 8.2 that I'm using appeared in early 2003, 9.0 that appeared in late summer 2003 still uses some 2002 derivative for the hotplug package). It might be that the 2004-01-05 hotplug uses usbmodules for synthesizing hotplug events for the hardware connected before hotplug has been started (i. e. in usb.rc), I still need to confirm this. Alan's patch should help me with that. -- Matthias Andree Encrypt your mail: my GnuPG key ID is 0x052E7D95 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
