Subject: [Bug 2466] New: cdc_acm not creating /dev/usb/acm/0

http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2466

           Summary: cdc_acm not creating /dev/usb/acm/0
    Kernel Version: 2.6.5-mm1
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
             Owner: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Distribution:Slackware 9.1
Hardware Environment: Compaq Presario 908EA
Software Environment:
Problem Description:
I'm using a Motorola C300 series cellular phone for GPRS connection. in the
Linus Tree, the cdc_acm module works fine with the modem. After modprobing the
module, i get a /dev/usb/acm/0 entry.

But when i patch with the mm patch, and modprobe the module, there are no
warning messages, the module is loaded (i can see it with lsmod), but i don't
get the /dev/usb/acm/0 entry. I tried to see if the name was changed, but no new
entries are created under /dev. when i type lsusb, i see that my cellular phone
is listed and i have an entry in /proc/bus/usb/devices for my cellular phone.
