Hi,
I reported this problem on the fedora-devel-list, but someone suggested I should also here, as I would probably get more information about it.
The kernel mentioned is in fact based on 2.6.3-bk5 with a few Red Hat specific patches.
Does 2.6.5-mm behave?

... The problem is that the connection is "flaky" and the usb0 interface on my laptop keeps going up and down until I finally get an oops. Yesterday I got a lot more of the "waiting for usb0 to become free" than today before actually getting the oops, but in the end I did too.
