With 2.6.6-rc1 it is NOT working anymore.

I have both usb_uhci and usb_ohci/ehci. The internal usb controller
where the palm is connected is usb_uhci, additionally I have a pci
usb2.0 card running with usb_ohci/ehci.

for devfs)
usbcore: registered new driver visor
drivers/usb/serial/visor.c: USB HandSpring Visor / Palm OS driver v2.1

and after the disconnect of the Palm (usb still sending stuff it seems)

Nothing more in the logfile/dmesg. At boot time I get the following

Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that
anything so mindboggingly useful could have evolved purely
by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as the
final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God.
The argument goes something like this: `I refuse to prove
that I exist,' says God, `for proof denies faith, and
without faith I am nothing.'
The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't
it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you
exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't.
