Sorry it took me so long to respond. According to the info I received from STM, the stv0680 chip has one configuration (1) and one interface (0). The interface has two alternate settings, one of which has a bulk transfer endpoint from camera to host; this is used to transfer raw data to the host. The 'assumption' you mentioned below is based on this information.

The stv680 and w9968cf drivers still include an assumption that they are
bound to interface number 0.  Since that the drivers are fairly tightly
linked to a specific kind of device I didn't try to change those
assumptions, but maybe they should be changed.
