I think all of the changes you mentioned will be included in 2.6.6-final, 
including others (such as automatically setting max_sectors to 128 when a 
Genesys interface is encountered).

Unhappily, we've never managed to find a way to make Genesys devices work 
reliably at high speed.  They seem to have some internal timing-related 
problem, related to the way the interface communicates with the disk 
drive.  We don't know what it is or how to work around it.
