I can't speak for usbutils, but there aren't any bugs in this area in usbfs. The bcdUSB, idVendor, idProduct, and bcdDevice fields in the device descriptor are stored in host byte order, which will be different from the order sent by the device on big-endian systems. I don't know if this is documented anywhere, but that's how it works.
