Hello,

I would like to ask first whether there is some reliable, recommended
workaround to get writing to such USB/IDE disks? Reading goes very well with a
speed over 30 MB/s. ID: 05e3:0702
EHCI controller Intel 82801DB (ICH4).

I have 128 in /sys/class/scsi_host/host0/device/0:0:0:0/max_sectors

The disk works on the same nx7000 HP Compaq laptop reliably under Windows XP
without installing any special driver.

I have compiled fresh 2.6.7rc1, reconnected a disk which was previously hang,
then did just "lsusb" - the whole system it has hanged immediately, I have not
seen even the cursor going to the next line. I do not remember what I have done
exactly, but lsusb should not hang like that under no circumstances.

Best regards,
