Hi List,

I tried to connect my KonicaMinolta Dimage A2 to my T40p and was not able to get it working.

I use Kernel-2.6.6 and another Compact-Flash reader works fine using usb-storage.

This is the relevant part from my log-file:

I fount some entries in linux/drivers/usb/storage/unusual_devs.h regarding older Minolta Digicams. But, AFAIK the entries in this file should only matter in a later part of the protocoll, i.e. after the device has its adress and is accessed as mass-storage device.

That's right.

Has anyone an idea how to proceed?

Btw. the camera works fine in windows, so it does not seem to be a HW problem.

Maybe it's an incompatibility between the camera and Linux.

So it seems. Using google I found at least one other person to have the same problem:

http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg10334.html

Does the camera work with other versions of Linux (like 2.4.26) or when plugged in to a different Linux computer?

I tried it on another Linux-Computer running 2.4.25, no hope either. I tried: uhci and usb-uhci. The log-file entries are as follows:

I load the module "uhci", the camera is plugged in and powered:

I'm willing to debug, help, try patches, etc.

I tried an usb-filter driver for win-xp. Maybe I can capture the initial packets. Would that be helpful?
