Hi guys,

I just got myself an USB scanner and plugged it into my machine. Sane
detected the thing just fine (canon lide 30) and preview worked just
fine. However when I tried the scan proper the scanner made a not so
nice sound, sane bailed on me with an I/O-error and dmesg showed me
this:

usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 2
usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 4
usb 1-1: usbfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed ep 0x82 len 4096 ret -110

hub 1-0:1.0: port 1 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling...<6>usb 1-1:
USB disconnect, address 4
usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 5
usb 1-1: device not accepting address 5, error -110
hub 1-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
hub 1-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
hub 1-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
hub 1-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
hub 1-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad?

When I un-, re-plug the device the thing is detected properly again.
When I try the same thing on my old P3 machine which has a UHCI it works
flawlessly, hence my assumption that the OHCI driver borks it up.

I'm more than willing to provide any information and or patch my kernel
sensless in order to get this working :)

Please help,

Peter Zijlstra
