There's a known bug in the SCSI drivers that causes rmmod to hang when you
try to unload sd_mod (and probably sr_mod too, although I haven't tried
it) under certain circumstances.  IIRC this will happen if sd_mod was
already loaded when the USB reader device was plugged in.  You should be
able to get things moving again simply by unplugging the USB device.
