I've posted some days ago concerning the hang of gphoto2 on a box with 
AMD756 and kernel 2.6.8.1. Applying the patch and using the freshly made
module did not change anything however. 

One "funny" thing to note is that when I unload the ohci_hcd prior to
running gphoto2 and modprobe it again, gphoto2 works - with or without 
the recent patch. I am able to reproduce this any time. Gphoto2 just 
freezes when i run it with the already inserted (by kernel module
autoloader?) module after startup.
