Dear Sir,

Greetings !

Hope you are doing fine.

Well, I have come across your messages in the USB Development Forums. I am very much
keen to understand the underlying details about the USB and its associated technology.

In my present task, I need to add the 802.11b WLAN features through USB Port for SoC
board having core ARM920T Processor. Hence, kindly provide me some tips / procedure
to carry out the task, from your experience ( I am a beginner ). What are the
necessary steps I need to undertake to complete the task successfully ?
Kindly furnish relevant materials for proper understanding of the same.

In addition to Internal peripherals and other Integrated Peripheral Interfaces, this
SoC board has Ethernet MAC as well as USB Ports ( 0, 1 and 2 ) OHIC Interface, well
supported with Linux OS. ( Kernel 2.4 ver ).

In this regard, I request you to answer the following queries b/w lines :

1] How to verify USB Compatibility for the SoC board ? Kindly let me know the
Driver details in the kernel.

2] Suppose I connect a USB Device to any of the given ports in SoC, how to ensure its
performance ? If it does not meet the desired response, is it the problem with the
USB Driver / OHIC driver OR with the SoC board ? Kindly throw some light here.

3] With a Wireless 802.11b Device ( Station STA ) connected to any of the port and
proper Installation / Configuration being done towards Access Point, how to achieve
the optimum performance ? Does this Wireless Device have a driver ? If yes, then
please tell me about its details. Here, since this is my main task,
kindly provide me proper instruction details to carry on successfully. What are the
necessary pre-requisites I need to take care before I embark on the Step 3] ?

I do hope that I receive valuable response from your experience you have challenged so
far in the USB development.

Looking forward to receive prompt and favorable response,

Regards,
