The BIOS may be removing it from the data structures it hands to the
kernel, but I don't see a way to disable the controller completely.  I'll
wager that if you did an 'lspci -H??' you can see the device.

The official errata doesn't mention a way to disable the controller,
either.

Besides, disabled or not, the patch is still valid.
