There's something wrong with your hardware then.  Maybe the disk drive
expects to be suspended or something (to save power, I think someone
said it's more important at high speed) ... but there's nothing the EHCI
driver can do in this case.  The hardware reported a connect change,
everything from then on is just recovery.
