Thanks for sending this message; it has been removed in the upcoming 
2.6.10 kernel.

To find out why the device isn't working, you should turn on the 
usb-storage verbose debugging option in the kernel configuration.  Then 
post a copy of the dmesg output showing what happens when you plug in the 
device.
